PM Modi inaugurates several welfare projects in Tamil Nadu

rime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took a dig at senior Congress leader P Chidambaram by calling him “Mr recounting minister” who thinks only he has brains.

During his visit to Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu, the Prime Minister attacked the Mahagatbandhan that has vowed to defeat the BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

He accused the Opposition of coming together to expand dynastic politics.

“What is the agenda of the so-called alliance? What is the issue they are fighting? Nobody knows. Because their guns are only aimed at Modi. This is adulteration and the people of Tamil Nadu know the health sector very well. Can they ever accept an adulterated product? It is a club of rich people trying to promote their dynasties. They neither understand poverty nor do they have the vision to serve the poor,” Modi said.

Surprisingly, the Prime Minister invoked late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Kamaraj and lifelong Congressman to say that the current central government, too, had a zero tolerance policy towards corruption.

“Kamraj wanted a clean government and ours is a clean government. Middlemen are not roaming in the corridors of power anymore. Fake beneficiaries are being removed,” Modi added.

The Prime Minister was in the city to inaugurate a slew of welfare projects.

He laid the foundation stone for a 100-bed Employees State Insurance Corp (ESIC) health facility in the district, along with flagging off an integrated building at the Trichy Airport and plans to modernise the Chennai airport.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, Twitter witnessed a hashtag war on Sunday. #GobackModi and #TNwelcomesModi were competing with each other to emerge as India wide trend.
